My B_I_L has just bought a 1/99 GQ Patrol 6 wheeler. Is this possible or has the plates been doctored? I thought they were GU's after 98. Any help would be great, thank you.
Trevor.

That is what I thought also truckie but see the links on other replies here and it sounds like some 99's were actually GQ.
Thanks, Trevor.

Trevor, GU utes did come out later than GU wagons, think it was mid 99, but don't quote me, lol.

Thanks
John, do you know if the GQ utes of 99 run earlier gearboxes or will it be prone to the 5th gear failures in 99 GU wagons?
Trevor.

This is from redbook - 1999 GQ
Both the GQ and the GU cab chassis came out in '99 - GQ not long into the year.

Sounds like my B_I_L got one of the last GQ utes made. Do you know if they run the bullet proof GQ gearbox or would it be susceptible to the 5th gear failures in the 99 GU's? it is a n/a 4.2 diesel also.
Thanks Trevor.

No doubt a call to Nissan should provide answers to whether the manual boxes are the same or different in that year.
So long as it was assembled after lunch on a Wednesday it should be OK ;-)
