Hi All
Yesterday, Alison took a fall off a small
cliff at Woolshed
Cave near
Elliston and has broken her foot. Last night they transferred her to
Whyalla Hospital and she is now resting. The Doctor has decided the break will not require pinning, but she will be off her foot for 8-14 weeks. Her spirits are high and our travels are on hold. More news when we know.
Cheers
Steve & Alison.

Geez Fishtail, that's bad, real bad. Who's doing the cooking and the dishes while Alison is out of it? Who's making the
home brew?
I'd get some outside help in mate or start buying paper plates!
I sincerely hope Alison is back on the trip soon mate. Give here all our best wishes from all of us chauvinists ;)

Hi Folks,
Sorry to hear about Alison's fall, hope she recovers swiftly.
I have just finished reading your entire photo journal - WOW !!!
I have emailed your website link to all I know encouraging them to view some of the finest photography I have seen in a long time. You guys have done an impressive job of capturing the beauty of this wonderful country and you have no doubt inspired many more than just me to get out there and experience as much of it as possible.
I maybe able to solve one of your mysteries for you. I have been working in Afghanistan on and off over the last 12 months and every time I come
home for a break I travel through Dubai, UAE. The vehicles you saw on
the wharf at Freo are Commodores and Monaros but with a General Motors or Chev badge. There are many of these vehicles in Dubai and no doubt they are shipped to Saudi as
well.
It is amazing to see the different types of vehicles that are familiar but not released in Australia - a short wheel based Prado for example.
I won't be
home (
Canberra) until late Feb and I ssume you will be
well north of the ACT by then but if not then feel free to drop in.
Best wishes for the remainder of your trip and thankyou for sharing it with us, you are an inspiration.
Cheers ... Taz

Firstly thank you to everyone for the replies,
well wishes and suggestions on how the acident occurred. As some of you might know before I let for the trip I worked in the entertainment industry and they all wished I would break a leg! I guess it came true.
Very sadly for me, my adventure around Australia is over,
well at least for the short term and Steve is taking the long way
home, so his should be over in 2 weeks or so. But never worry. plans are already afoot for another trip in 2 years or so, and we have learnt a few lessons which should help improve the trip for next time.
The bone in my foot is broken in 2
places and I will not be walking for 2-3 months. but on the positive a fall from the high I did usually produces far worse injuries. So I am still smiling! :)
Anyway - I feel fattered with all the good wishes and I thank you all so much
Regards
Alison
