Went to open up exploreoz

A few of us are having this problem. See the thread headed
"What the ...... ?? 'puter gremlins" about 30 posts down from here. Seems to depend on which operating system or browser (?) you're using. My windows 2000 machine can't see the navigation buttons, but my windows XP laptop can. Weird !

I have had exactly the same problem for the last couple of days. The entire row of buttons at the top does not show on the splash page.
I have just been going to the very bottom of the splash page and clicking on "forum" to get in.
Cheers,
Brett

For us,
IE 6.0.2800 with SP1 on the Windows 2000 doesn't show buttons.
Buttons do show in IE 6.0.2900 with SP2 running on Windows XP

Well I haver no idea what is going on - I use IE, FF 1.6.3 & 2.0, Opera 9 and we run across 7 odd computers and I have not seen this error that you guys seem to be saying is happening. I also
test on a backend copy of the site loaded from a totally different server and I cannot see any reason - nor have I experienced any problems.
In general please let us know about these via email/
feedback as I totally missed the other thread until a few mins ago when Damian told me about an email in the in-box.
For now those that see a problem please disable your internet security systems for a short period and see what happens. One of the menu items says
Advertise with us and some security programs will throw away the word Advertise (this then breaks the menu). Let em know how this goes and please email stuff to me david@exploroz.com as this way I will get, read and respond.

Added some testing:
I just opened Opear 9.02 - cleared all private data - closed and opened again - still works perfectly
Also Firefox 2.0.0.1 - cleared private data - closed and opened again - works perectly
Same with IE 6.
I do not run and do not recommend (in my IT life) the use of Internet security packages - Of course you must run AV and these days spyware however the mirid of other waste of resources products should be left disabled or un-installed. Once these are removed all of a sudden those supposed slow browsers and things that just do not work all of a sudden work again and the whole system becomes fast again. I look after many hundreds of desktops via I.T. Beyond customers and have never had a problem with the lack of installation of all those products (however AV is a must - Spyware should be looked at periodically, leave the rest disabled).

Hi David,
That is 3 of us so far that are using Windows 98 or 98SE that have the problem, so maybe this is part of the problem for us.
It is not worrying me as most of the time I am using my work computer with XP Pro and it works fine. It is only happening when I use the computer at
home running 98SE.
Cheers,
Brett

I have one pc in
my home network running 98se which doesn't have the problem, the browser is Maxthon. On this particular PC I have no security protection at all apart from the router firewall.

From
home I used to get the
Forum in the Tab format at the top of the screen now I get a site map page and the
forum is right at the bottom of the page. At work it's situation normal. All Tabs at the top of the page like it should be.
