Cruiser:
Dislike! Sislike! Mislike. (Not allowed to use 'hate' . pi.)

Those of us on dial-up simply droool at the possibilities associated with warp speeds, (even by Aust. standards).

Recently saw a home video, (Steve and Evana, off Middle Lagoon, WA) of a 6m (est) hammerhead, checking out a hooked Stripey. Again and again and again.

Also a 3m (forget) shark, trying to take a rather large, inflated puffer fish.

No big deal, until one realises they are solo in a 12' tinney.

Obviously not a patch on a big shark, but we of the lesser technology must grab our jollies where we find them.

(One day Cruiser, one day. Willem and us will sproing into the modern age:)
oh, never mind, and thank you for the link. Leff H

That is very cool. I wonder how long it took to map that out.

I used to swim there, I didn't know there were sharks that big in the area though.

I haven't seen the Google Earth thing as I've still not got everything loaded back onto this PC after "The Disaster",,,,,,,,,

But If ya wanna see sharks and thousands of 'em, take a trip to an offshore oil platform off the coast of W.A. I used to have to visit several of these and stay a few days. Walk along the deck at night and look down into the water, in the light of the flare or the deck lighting,,,,,,,,,,,,OOOOHhhhhhhh Boyah!!

Ya wouldnae wanna be fallin' in THERE laddie!! They are huge buggers - some around 6 metres plus and not just one or two of 'em, there's layer after layer of 'em just under the surface. It sent a chill down my spine on several occasions I can tell ya.

I've seen pics of guys having hooked a big Yellowfin, Spaniard or big snapper and bang! There's only the head left - with a bite mark radius that you could push a wheelie bin through - sideways! . You wouldn't last 10 seconds,,,,,,,,,,

Bilbo, appreciate your first hand experience well off-shore. Imagine that you have maybe1.6mm of alloy between yourself and one (just one)of those 6m machines?
These 'kids' ( around mid 30's I guess, so first time i've shown my age), have quite good quality footage of astounding , VERY personal , events, involving the traditional( huge) Spaniard, assorted sharks, manta rays, whales.
Unfortunately I lack the ability to present my recent portraits of "The Kids", but believe me, they make any ""commercial"" programme just fade awaayyy
For those of you who care, see my "rig pics': 'bubbles at sundown', perhaps. jh.

Apologies, failed to scan previous post before sending.
Managed to erase the bit about the kids offering and re-offering the Stripey as a point of interest to the 6m (est) hammerhead. JH.
