Fitzmaurice river, NT. Has anyone been there?

I am looking into a trip to the Fitzmorice river in the NT and was hoping some one might have been there. I will be going by car not boat and yes I know it is a hell hard track and I expect to get more punctures than I have spare tyres!!

Take a look at my website www.kempen.id.au I wrote an article on the Fitzmaurice River that was published in 4x4 Australia Magazine in 1988. There is also an article on Palm Creek (1992) which runs into the Fitzmaurice River. Unfortunately I do not have photos published on the net as yet on these particular stories but if you would like more information you can email me direct.

You shouldn't get too many punctures as the vegetation is pretty soft up in the Top End. We did a lot of cross country and 'blind' driving through tall grass whilst doing these trips and suffered only a few punctures amongst all the vehicles.Cheers, Willem
