I'm putting my hand up. the photo of the rodeo on "my rig page" is not mine. Looks just like mine and as it was better than any photo i had available to submit so I put it in as a representation.

The photo was taken at Mudlo Rocks-Rainbow Beach-Qld . I cant remember where I found it but about 2 hours later 1 rear tail light was all that was visable. I believe more than a few dozen vehicles come to grief here each year.

i dont know how you put photos in questions so ive added to "My Rig" another photo to see how cleaver The Publican is. As he picked the Rodeo at Rainbow I wonder what he thinks of the new photo. Only clue, 2 vehicles, second one a bit hard to pick so I will tell you its a Hilux.

regards Peter D M

ps Sunday night i'll put in the answer.

Peter,

To get the photo to appear you need to add a Signature in the My Profile page. Jump in to that page and near the top you will see the signature area. Enter something like Regards Peter (or something like some of the other users). The system will add the photo and the signature together and automatcally add this to your forum posts.Regards

to peter and the publican and others

i could understand not getting the hilux but it suprises me you didnt pick the 100series toyota in the forground.
location is wathumba creek western side of fraser island.
a big estuary and depending on tidal hight can almost drain at low tide leaving about 40m of thigh deep water.at high tide as the photo shows 500m across, so much water comes in and out leaving a very soft and unstable base.

regads to all

Peter, if they're your photos, you should try sending them to 4x4 Australia magazine. They run a monthly comp for "disaster" photos like these. There have been some goodies, but none as good as your second one. The "prize" is a bunch of recovery gear.

I think I'll fit the floatation tanks, prop and rudder before I try that beach run.Be good, or be quick.
