Hi I have a Goldstream Wing III and want to put on a set of 16'' split rims on to it. I have spoken to the manufacturers and they don't feel there is a any problem with fitting them although its not so clear on the issue of warranty should something go wrong. Is there an agreed measurement that l should be looking for between the top of the tyre and the guard?? or is there another more relevant measurement I should be looking at.

Steven, I am considering doing likewise as the tyres on the 15 by 7 rims that came with my CT arent up to scratch for an upcoming trip & the spare Jackaroo rims I have wont fit due to the offset. See post a bit lower down. The 31.5 by 10 tyres
have around 3" clearance under guards. This would probably decrease a bit if the tyres had more tread on them. With 16" splits I think that clearance would be even
greater if 205 or 225 tyres were used, maybe about the same for 7.50 's. Anyway
the clearance must exceed the
suspension travel obviously & my leaf springs
certainly wont compress that far . I cant help with the legality/warranty thing but
I'm sure the rims will be suitable if the clearance isnt an issue. If you decide that way I can swap you a couple of rims for a slab if its any help. I'm about 45 minutes from you.....oldbaz.

Steven
I have a Goldstream Wing II which was purchased new with 16 inch rims.
I ordered the Wing with tyres to suit our new Pajero (which we had not yet bought). Unfortunately, the Pajero VR-X has 17 inch
wheels, so the
wheels are not as interchangeable as I thought. When I pointed this out to the dealer, they were as unhelpful as a very unhelpful thing. The upshot is that I sttill have 16 inch
wheels.
I spoke to Goldstream and they said the 16 inch
wheels were suitable as they were fitted as 'standard' equipment. They also said the main consideration is the amount of clearance in the wheel wells.
Perhaps someone could help me with a question: When I picked up the Wing, the dealer told me to inflate the tyres to 48 or 50 psi. The tyres state "max 44 psi". Does anyone have any idea why the dealer would suggest such a high pressure?

We purchased our Goldstrean LTD new from factory with 16 inch split rims to match the cruiser. No problems with clearance. Changing tyres is a bit tricky as tyre needs to be raised up under wheel arch using levers under tyre. Not a real issue though.
