Hello Guys,
I own a 2005 Pathfinder running 17" rims, most pathfinder owners only run 16" rims with AT tyres. I have seen Prados using BFGs on 17" rims.
If any one is running BFG or Cooper AT or MT tyres on 17" rims what size did you decide on.
It is time to replace my HT wranglers as they just dont suit my requirements.
I am installing OME
suspension which will give me about 30 - 40mm lift so a bit bigger than the standard size is ok.
Thanks TPM

The bottom of the range Pathies run 16" wheels, but all the rest run 17".
Seems kind of silly unless Nissan thought more of the bottom range would go bush.
Have you been on the Pathfinder
forum, lot of good info there.
Regards
Col

Yep am a regular on the PCOA site but most of them run 16"
I am really interested in BFGs as have had great success with them on a troopie I owned previously, I wasnt that worried going to 17" as it is alot more common now on Prados etc.

TPM,
I have BFG ATs 265/70/17 LT rating. Did 20000kms round the centre, top end and down the qld coast without a
puncture or other damage, plenty off road and sand on Fraser Island. I think they come in reading about 3-6% under on the speedo compared to actual so 100 is really between 103-106km/h.

Should add that
mine scrubbed the inner plastic guard on one side before it was lifted with an OME set up. There are few new model Navara utes etc down this way with 17s and BFG or Cooper AT/MTs. They look the goods, certainly catch the eye like the new Hilux's when they are kitted up.

If you want a really tough tyres then go with the Goodyear MTR. I am running these on the Prado in 265/70R17. I am also running a set of Cooper ATR in he same size on another set of rims as they are much better on the bitumen. I run the MTR generally and put the ATR's on if doing an interstate trip that does not involve offroad work.
Goodyears are a bit noisy on bitumen but on fast gravel they are just bliss. The Coopers are a great allrounder that are really good on bitumen and not too bad off road. The MTR's are just in a class of there ow for grip offroad. They are both an LT construction.
The only way to get tougher tyres above these is to go with the Willem specials, rag cross plies with inch thick sidewalls!
