To my trusted fellow forum readers,

I am going through one of my 4wd monthly mags and I actually took time to read an advert, I'm refering to the 4wd Systems two page ad.

I want to know if their product are any good compared to ARB.
I'm in the process of purchasing Drawers, Roof rack, spare wheel carrier, longrange fuel tank, and snorkel. There is a big saving buying them in a package from this mob but am very concerned about the quality of there products.

They come across proffesional, but I need someone who has had anything to do with them to drop me a Post.

Thank You
Beadman

Gday Beadman
My only experience has been their snorkel, which was of a slightly lower quality than a safari I had fitted on a previous car, but the differene was only slight and asthetic, so I'd go with them again. There has been a few posts about them in the past, a search will give a few answers, but some archive answers can be out of date

Cheers Andrew

We bought a snorkel for our 100 series from them and fitted it ourselves, it arrived on time and was no drama to fit
The best part was it worked out half price of the two other magor suppliers

Got a LR tank and front LOKKA for the Jack from them - slight hickup with service - got there after they booked me a loan car, turns out someone else had it - they were ready to let me walk away, I had to fight to get them to pay for the taxi ride home and back ($100), apart from that happy with the product and installation - although I have heard that the material the snorkel is made from is a little sub-standard - only time will tell.

Shockies/lift kit from TJM, couldn't be happier.

I purchased a 4 inch lift kit(shocks and springs and castor bushes quite some time ago. They sent me what was a two inch kit and charged me the price for four inch kit, after calling, explaining the situation and then chasing repeatedly after being ignored I finally got hold of someone that called the shots, he knew nothing about my chasing to resolve the issue and said he would fix the problem. Two weeks later I get sent a set of screw on shock lengtheners (peice of spun mild steel) and two shock absorbers for the rear ( they had failed already three months after purchase) and then after another call to enquire about getting a set of shock absorbers and springs actually the correct length for a four inch lift, they sent me a set front coil springs(not even painted just black from heat treatment)and once again on asking where my 4 inch lift kit was , was rather curtly told to give up and then 6 weeks later was sent a bill for the crap the couriered to me. Ha, they were curtly told they could have a courier pick up the crap they called a suspension kit and refund ALL my money........didn't hear from them again.
I have since sourced all nearly all my suspension parts from 4 way suspension and am very happy , proper research before buying goes a long way.

Have heard quite a few bad cases about them through my local club mainly concerned with suspension and LR Tanks. I bought a roof rack from them, and other than being a bit heavy (all steel) it is a very good product.

Hi Beadman,

I bought a full length steel roof rack from 4WD Systems 3 years ago.

One of the mounting brackets snapped when I first attached the rack. They promptly posted out a replacement bracket to me.

3 years later the front right hand leg of the rack snapped while I was out at Chambers Pillar, had to limp into Maryvale and get the local aborigine mechanics to weld it together so that I could complete my trip. When I returned to Sydney, I rang 4WD Systems and they sent out a whole new right hand leg set.

I can't complain about their service but the quality is questionable. The rack was also VERY heavy. I've since sold the rack along with the truck and I know use a Rhino rack roof bar and cage system, much lighter and I can manage it by myself.

I bought a roof rack off them in Adelaide

When they fitted it they overtigthened the clamps and bent the roof gutter

On my last desert excursion all of the 6 legs of the rack cracked. THe rack wasn't overloaded. The roof rack was under 24 months old.

They offered to replace the legs for $100 for the set. In the end I had a mate weld gussets to the legs for slab of beer and they survived the next big trip.

I have since sold the roof rack

Not really enthused with their professionalism nor their after sales manners.

I have heard they don't clean out their LR tanks very well after making them. Lots of crap inside them.
