Hey Dazza. I'm asking this question as you'r GC based and i will be over there (from South Island) later this year. I'm in the market for two uhf in car units and was wondering what the prices are like over your side of the ditch. I'm interested in the Uniden UH0 12 and UH088. Uniden's mainly as the GME unit is not widely sold here.

I can help you there mate. The UNIDEN UH-012 Mobile UHF CB goes for AUD $298. It just so happens i've been watching, looking out for this one to drop in price for a few months now as i want one as
well. No luck yet though. The UH-088 is the same price. There's a few listed at www.dse.com.au ( dick smith elec. ) I've been in to the stores a number of times, same price in store as on line. I've looked but haven't found them any cheaper any where else. There was recently a 4WD drive show at parklands on the coast, i went expecting a 'Show Price' with no luck. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply Dazza. Best price from DSE here in NZ for the UHO12 is $306 while the UHO88 is $390 AND THATS TO BUY 10! The GME 3200 is $443 which is over priced. Hey quick question. With the repeater system you guys have over there what is the db gain aerial you guys generally run with, as it looks that anything higher than 4.5db here will be wasted as it is too directional to pick up into the hollows.
