Does anyone have any information on Tire Pressure Monitors for tires on Trailers, RV or Horse Trailers. I've heard about www.tirepressuremonitor.com. Would like feedback on their products if you have any? They monitor up to 34 wheels?

This is totally different system and not the one which been asked about...
I got the one in the link supplied and it can only monitor 4 tyres. (And you can get them from ebay for under $40US + postage).

Sorry to be off the subject, but to Kevin E (QLD) I see you've been to Smith Point with the navigation beacon in the back ground. This beacon was rebuilt single handedly by the Ranger on station at the time in the late 70's early 80's (can't remember his name at the moment). Its one third size the size of the original which was used by the sailing ships coming into the Port Essington Settlement in the 1800's.

Somewhere or other I've got photos of a Roadtrain at the beacon. We were building a new house for the ranger at Black Point and everything to construct the whole house was on the Roadtrain. When the roadtrain arrived at Murganella the OIC of the settlement was seen rubbing his chin and said "I don't think this will get up there" to which the Truckie replied "can a horse get up the track" to which the reply was " bleep e yer". The Truckie said "then I will" and he did.

Like I said sorry to be off subject but the picture brought back memories.

Were you a member of the Toyota Club in Darwin and driving a Troopy in the 1980's?

Willem,
No I wasn't to both. But in the 70's I did convert my FJ45 LWD Ute body into a soft top which is where Toyota got the idea to bring out their Troopy LWB soft tops which lead to the hard top Troopys

I go rid of my Tojo in 73 when petrol was tipped rise to a $1 a gallon. Replaced it with a brand spanking new Toyota Crown (pure luxury at the time). I replaced that with a Toyota Dyna Twin Cab ute body and I took that lots of places that I use to go 4wdriving. You should have seen the jaws drop when a conventional vehicle showed up at supposedly 4x4 places.

Are the valve stem type monitors the only ones able to be used when you have tubes fitted?

Charliedozer,
I've seen these ones but they only do pressure, no temperature, also battery life is very low, easily stolen and easily damaged off road.

I know they only do pressure, but the first thing one wants to know when the temperature rises is, "what's the pressure?". The pressure is really what is important. Battery life, I'm told, is 3-4 years. Pretty darn good as far as I'm concerned. My friend has a system and he bought the Lock Nut Kit which locks the Sensors on, so that's not a problem either. I purchased the system and use it on my horse trailer and truck. Nice thing about this system is it can be use on alternate vehicles like boat trailer, RV and all terrain vehicles as well.Their website, www.TirePressureMonitor.com is pretty comprehensive and addresses all these issues, take a look at this great product.
