Just wondering if anyone has been looking at conversion kits (I have D22 Navara).

Also, has anyone seen or installed the new Narva HID driving lights, if so how do they compare?

Havn't used headlight conversion kits yet, but have put kits on driving lights. I initially bought a set of Ashdown HID's (one pencil and one broadbeam). Absolutely awesome, especially the broadbeam one(they are now on one of our trucks). I then got kits for another set of IPF lights i have (2 spot beams). I can tell you that I have had a fair share of driving lights over the years but these little IPF's with the HID kits in them are by far the best i have had. I can recommend the kits, but would suggest ( from my experience), to those wishing to convert to do it to broadbeam type or spot beams as oppossed to pencil beams to fully utilize the effective light gain.My spot beams give good coverage with the same distance as the pencil beam with an awesome white light. I have factory HID lights on my wife's car and they are good also. As for the kits, they are well made so I see no reason why they wouldn't be good for your headlights. Make sure they're not adjusted too high though. Kirsten (NSW)

Sounds awesome, how much would I expect to pay for a kit.
I'm running the IPF spots and I thought they were pretty good, but sounds like I need to try the HID.

Mr / Mrs vcbb ,

I agree with Kirsten - get HID broad beams . I have two Hella Predator HID broad beams and they go out further than my old Oscar pencils . They turn light into day .

Don't buy the Hella though , if you are ever going to do a creek crossing - they fill up with water VERY quickly and that's not good when it's muddy . I carry plastic bags now to cover them in water crossings .

heers ,

Willie .

Hi vcbb

HID is the way to go, more light for less power.

Our new HID Vision 8500 series are fantastic. I thought 120W Halogen globes were bright but HID is the way to go.

Regards

Derek.

Can't seem to find the "add to cart" for these lights Derek. Or the price!

still cant compete in price wiht the HID kits on Ebay... $100 + ya normal lights.
Saw a set of Rally 4000's at Rudi's place with the 50w kit, ... AWESOME.

If I had confidence that I wouldnt knacked my 240's I'd do then today!

when HIDs come down to $350 like others, I'll get some.

Bruce, I agree with you, thought that Ads wanker lights with the HID kit did a great job of the side infill. The 240 Lightforce Blitz was pretty good against the HID driving lights, though more localised in their aiming.

With the shorter aiming along twisty roads the wankers as above would do a great job. Like to put a similar set in mine.

Make sure you select colour of 6000K or less. otherwise light is too blue over this. At 6000K it is a very white, leaning towards blueish light. I would recommend 4300K, IMHO. 100 watt Halogen light is about 2300K (yellowish white).
