When you move slowly on uneven ground or beach, you can hear a knocking sound in the front end. You don't normally hear it on the highway where it smooth and it does not appear to effect steering, handling, etc.
I hear it more when I do beach work. It is a 99 troopy with the coil springs at the front........any suggestions....thankyou Phil.

Check the shock absorber bushes, top and bottom. A loose bottom one was causing a similar knock on
mine.

If you cannot find a source of the noise at the front, it is probably coming from the rear leaf springs - those wrap around bits seem to rattle. I've traced a similar noise on
mine.

And another thing to look at is the front drive shaft uni joints. Make sure the front hubs are out and transfer case in 2WD get hold of the drive shaft and feel for any movement.
