Hi
Has anyone any current information about the areas around McKillops
Bridge and the condition of the Deddick Track?
Looking at my maps it seems that the fires should not have travelled as far as the
Snowy River at this stage, but I would appreciate any local up to date information if possible.
We may do the Deddick track late February or early March 2007. We travelled it in 1994 in a stock standard 4 cyl Nissan Pathfinder with original tyres. We had minimal trouble but I had my heart in my mouth at stages as it had some of the steepest
hill I had travelled.
Thanks in anticipation
Regards
Phil

Hi Phil
Sorry I can't help you with fire status but I have to agree with you about the track - it's a balltearer, especially with the camper trailer on the back. We did it two days after the rig
pic was taken.
Steep takes on a whole new meaning with a petrol auto and 1.4 tons pushing from behind. We would have turned around but there was nowhere to do it.
Have fun
Mike

I was down there about 3 weeks ago, coming in from
Bombala is an easy drive, one thing i won't do ever again is come down from
Buchan.
We spoke to a bloke who did the Deddick track and his only bad comment was the size of the errosion humps, other than that no probs.
One more thing Mc Killops is bloody dry down there, and hot, i personally didn't like the place at all.
Baz.
