Hermit Mountain Fire update - 1.00 pm
Information on Hermit Mountain fire 40 kilometres South East of Corryong in North East Victoria. Currently approximately 840 hectares.

The Hermit Mountain fire is located 40 km south east of Corryong in NE Victoria. Currently the fire size is approximately 1280 hectares in Victoria and 1000 hectares in NSW.
This fire has spotted over the
Murray River on the east side of the fire.
The spot fires are burning between the
Murray River and the Alpine Way, north of
Tom Groggin Station. As a result the Alpine Way has now been closed. The
Geehi and Swampy Creek Campsites have also been closed for public safety.
The fire also spotted within containment lines midway between
Tom Groggin Station and
Mount Pinnibar.

Camping Area,
Kosciuszko National Park
* The Alpine Way is closed from
Khancoban to
Dead Horse Gap.
* The Cascade Trail and
the Pilot Wilderness Area in the
Kosciuszko National Park are closed to overnight walkers and bikers.
* The Kosciusko National Park is closed south of the Snowy Mountain Highway.

Been lucky in that area for this long.
