Well i've been lucky enough to test out the Dtronic in my Prado and to keep it short i was quite impressed. The extra torque produced kicked in a lot earlier than previous and was very noticeable. This made the car a lot more responsive at lower speeds. On the highway it was a bit of a muchness with not much traffic to overtake and test with, it seemed to get to 100kph a bit quicker though. On the beach i towed a loaded trailer along the soft sand easily whereas it has struggled previously.
Bottom line on it is $700 for the unit (secondhand) which i figure is about 1/2 price of new so i will now speak with SWMBO to procure the funds.

And me if it does not get the nod of approval. I will find the $$$$ somewhere, even if I have to mortage the grandkids.
