Just wondering what is the best way to have someone contact you after an initial
contact through the
forum.
Do you show your mobile phone number or email address?

Gday GU
If your both members, you cn exchange phone numbers etc via member messages, otherwise you'll probably have to post it for all to see.
Cheers Andrew

Ahhhhhh the advantages of being a member.
It is such a small price to pay for some privacy from the WWW

I've posted my email addy on here quite a lot and never had any problem other than people like Roachie, Truckster, Mike Harding, Footloose, Andrew, Richard K, Jimbo, The Moses Mob et al,,,,,,,,,,,
Oh yes - and a 17 stone transvestite truckie from Arkansas, called Debbie,,,,,,,,,,,,we're into gerbils just now,,,,,,,,,,,,,When we first "met on the 'net" I thought he meant "gerberas" but it's worked out quite
well as it is,,,,,,,,

Thanks for that little snippet of info. Bilbo.
Funny how "things" work out sometimes. Still, it's nice to be popular.
Cheers....Wayne GU

GU, before I was a member I used to type in a signature of sorts, but these days my mobile number and email addy are visible to those who wish to contact me. I have had a few do it to ask about particular items of kit.
Best to not put your full intact email addy though as there are little internet bots that identify the string of letters with the @
sign as an indicator. They can harvest the addresses for spam. Best to include some additional letters or words with advice to delete them like williewooster_nospam@ficticious.com with advice to delete the "_nospam".
I guess I have had two people contact me from EO in the last fortnight apart from Member Messages, where we may already know one another.

My mobile number and my email addy are in my profile so you can contact me anytime you like.
Have been bold enough, many times now, to meet up with people and invite them here from EO contacts, have even had some who are travelling stay over, and know of plenty of others that have done the same.
I have even organized a couple of day/meets/BBQ's and a weekend camping for some SA EO people and they are a great way to meet the people you talk to on here.
I guess there is some risk involved, but you get to know people a bit from just being on here.
Did hear a story of a
well know member of this
forum, who attended the weekend
camp we had a couple of years ago, and who arrived about lunchtime, but his wife wouldnt let him setup
camp until she had mingled all arvo, just in case there was an axe murderer amoungst us !!!
Well there wasnt, and she did, and she had a great weekend !!!
Cheers Pesty

You can always get a Yahoo address and use that on the
forum for initial contact. If the address gets snaffeled by someone you do not wish to deal with then kill the Yahoo account and start another one.
