Anybody here driven the CSR in a GQ Patrol 4.2l EFI? I can do all sorts of estimating based on trips I have made across the Simpson etc, but I would rather hear from somebody who has actually done it in the same vehicle as me.
So, if you did, how much fuel did you carry and how much of that was left at the refuelling stop?
PS: The Trek Fuel notes only has one 4.2l 6cyl ULP and I am not sure it is a GQ, so your help would be appreciated.

In the "Trip Planning" tab above, there is a fuel consumption chart for many engine types in many tracks around Aus. I would start there.
If you need a link posted I can, but it is pretty straight forward to find. Let me know if you can't find it and I will post link.
Hope it helps.
Trevor.

CSR FUEL REQUIREMENTS
You will need to scroll down to see your engine type and what others have used to do the same trek. Hope it helps.
Cheers. Trevor.

No haven't done it in a petrol GQ but in a Petrol Landruiser 4.3lt and later again in 4.2 diesel.
As a rule of thumb take your average fuel consumption for bush tracks and double it for the CSR. Carry enough fuel to cover the distances needed.
North CSR in the dunes I averaged 3.8km/l or 10mpg but with an old technology vehicle.
You vehicle being fuel injected should give better results than
mine did in 1994.

howdy , neville patrol.
I did the CSR may 05 I have a GQ 4.2efi auto , I carried 240 lts , topped up at billuluna ,splsh and dash at
well 33 community and got to the well23 fuel drop .
don.t worry about how much is left ,make sure ya full when ya leave I used a 200lt drum . I wasn,t interested in what I left just that I was full when I left .
you will have a ball , I travelled all but about a dozen dunes in 2wd and if I looked like getting stuck I just selected 4h on the run and didn,t have to flog the truck .
Make sure ya do the trip in May ish , the trck is in good condition and very little corrugations as it is the start of the terrerist season ,
enjoy ,mechpete.
