G'day all
I've just buoght a new Oztent and I was wondering if it needs to be hosed down before use.
There's nothing anywhere suggesting I need to do this, but last tent I bought(cheapie) told me to do so.
It's made of 65% polyester 35% cotton if this info is relevant.
Most corrospondents will be taken seriously,

the word is that 'all' tents should be erected and given a good few soakings before use.
stitching will expand/stretch/seal or something like that.
also, you look like a professional the first time you put it up with people watching.
i must admit though, i did enjoy watching a family putting up a new/borrowed
tent over xmas. hours of laughs

I have had two Oztents and loved them, and I have always given them a bit of a soaking before using them for the first time, more out of habit I think. It can't do any harm if you can give it a wet down, but I think you will find they are a pretty waterproof unit. My two have been through almost everything and we've never had a drop of water inside.
The extra "zip ons" make them a very versatile unit in my opinion. Enjoy yours.
