G'day - am in my second year as a member of exploroz - been checking in for about 4 years though - just wanted to say what a pleasure this site is compared to a couple of others and their forums I have checked out recently. On here you get helpful information from a lot of different people - including some very knowlegable ones - many thanks - my husband installed the dual battery system from information on this site provided by helpful people.
The forums on these other sites seem to be nothing but boring infighting - someone asks a question - and some smarty posts a smart alec reply - and it just deteriorates from there - I wouldn't feel you could get much helpful info from anyone on these sites-
Long live Exploroz!!! Thanks to all the regulars like Willem, Truckster, MadDog - etc etc.

Jules

Thanks for the kind words.

I too frequented and even joined up to many 4x4 forums over the years but only contribute to ExplorOz these days.

I have made many friends (and some enemies) here on EO...LOL

Hey, Crazy Dog, no need to worry if you don't meet us before you shuffle off - all of us bar none will be in the High Country when we depart !

There'll be no worries about fuel ripoffs, no Scrubys, no nasty posts, and best of all the only fourbys will be Jackaroos and H3s........................

Hey quick: let's just settle eh:( before the fees go up).
Just because those puritanical, caring, involved Moderators manage to maintain a simmering semblance of peace and order is no reason to heap praise upon them.
Why, I've seen cooking sites that are almost as user-friendly.(Hmm. But then again --- )
Ahh damn it, best come clean 'lest I upset the Righteous: yes, agree Michelle, David, and mostly the Members comprise a top mob.
Permit me two extravagances:

(1) May we have Collyn Rivers back on line? (Please?)

(2),In the event that the site lacks a patron, may I nominate Gramps?

Thank you all. What hasn't been informative has been entertaining. Jeff.H.

I used to like this site till someone said Gramps was any value hahahahahah on second thoughts I might go google "patron"

pa·tron (paetron)
n.
1. One that supports, protects, or champions someone or something, such as an institution, event, or cause; a sponsor or benefactor: a patron of the arts.
2. A customer, especially a regular customer.

Indeed Patron is Gramps. In accordance with the above adornment Gramps, please leave your credit card number witgh David to "sponsor" all future new members and recurring member renewals.

hehehehe

Julie,

I agree with your comments. Damn problem though is that this place is like a disease. No matter how busy or tired I am I can't stop myself checking it, usually out more than once a day.
One of the best sites around, no question.
And the entertainment/information from here is tops.

You guys need to get out more.

There are lots of forums out there on par with EO, some heaps better and free too, after being a member here i found that other forum offer the same things and more for free.

As good as this forum is, it's not the best.

I don't know Baz there Al, but I have been there periodically to my regret for time wasting, Outerlimits is ok for some things, the others are pretty unreal, including what I have seen of the Camper Trailer forum. Pretty amateur. Baz has a mate with one but I haven't been there for maaaany months.

I am not sure if I am one of the pimply faced ones to which you refer Al??? This EO is a village atmosphere even to the idiots ;-)

JR,

They seem obsessed with post counts so there is a proliferation of rubbish. Definitely a "boys club" of sorts. Despite that, I have come across some interesting/useful info besides the bits that have been copied ( word for word or slightly paraphrased ) from this forum (checking post times etc etc).

ps We idiots love the village atmosphere here :)))))

It may have to be restricted at times - I see ferinstance, you don't have a MsGramps aside you. ;-))) Seems like you are talking plagiarism like an examiner mate with some of the other sites.

The plagiarism bit is probably a bit too strong but it is unnerving, for the befuddled and bewildered like me, to read their own words under someone else's name hahaha. Someone must have been desperate for a contribution to that forum.
