Well its finally on. We have had dieselgas fitted to our GU Patrol, but is it a good thing I now ask myself.

Unfortunately after having to wait in line for 6 months to get the job done, it happened at a time I am away for work, which I didn't have a problem with as the better half said she would take care of it. Whats the problem you ask?

The problem is she has now picked the Patrol up and has told me I am no longer allowed to drive it! In her words, I can drive the Jap crap in the garage and she alone drives MY car.

I have been informed that I may at some stage be allowed to drive (just once) to get a feel for the extra power. I am not enjoying this trip away thinking of the fun she is having without me. The last straw will be her telling me she is packing the kids up for a weekend away in the bush or up the hills or down the beach Testing what it can now do. We have been extremely happy with the GU, as it has done everything we have asked of it. From the stories I am getting in the last few days, it has got a lot better.

I will keep all informed as to the economy and power benefits after a few months of use towing and driving with the dieselgas fitted, (if she lets me, of course).

Cheers,

Chris

Sounds like she is going to drive around and give us other GU drivers a drive around and test drive Chris. No need for you to know anything about that at all of course. May tell you how good your SWMBO is as a driver too of course. ;-)

Hi

Congratulations on your decision to go Dieselgas.

Wondered if your Patrol is automatic or manual?

As I have mentioned on other posts I am very pleased with my ZD30 Automatic on Dieselgas and will be interested to hear your comments during the next few thousand kilometres or so.

Cheers

Hey Welcome to the Club M8,

I had mine fitted 2 weeks ago and she goes like a dream. Cant wait to hit the sand and watch her plough up over and through everything!!Im off to Geraldton next week so once I waste the entire fuel capactiy of the truck ill post with my mileage findings, then after that I will do a city driving test.

Cheers

Phil,

Mine is the auto. I will be towing the camper over the Oz day weekend so looking foward to fewer changes in the auto when in the bush and hills.

All i need is the government rebate and I'll be smilling ;-)

Cheers,

Chris
