Gday, just a quick question for anyone who has a prodigy electric brake controller. Does the readout on the controller stay lit up all of the time or only when the brakes are applied? I'm trying to find a good spot for it and the best spot is on top of the dash but if it's lit up all of the time it will be distracting.

Any replies appreciated.

Thanks

Barnsey,
when its connected there are a couple of dots and numbers which come up when you brake telling you the amount of braking applied.

If its not connected there will just be one red dot or two depending on the setting.

Hope this helps

When brakes are not applied there are just a couple of dots lit up on the bottom of the screen. When brakes are applied numbers appear showing the braking force applied to the trailer.

Hi Norm,
Just got one for the van.
Do you use the boost features at all on the highway and drop back to std in the city or just set it at a higher voltage when on the highway.
Resale on the oddys are good BTW. took us 3 days to sell.
Cheers
John

John, I just experimented a bit. When we have the CT fully loaded (about 1,500 KG) I usually run on boost 1 all the time. Have occasionally taken it higher if doing a long down hill run down a range or similar.

Good news on the Oddy, but we have just about got ours set up exactly as we want. Will probably get a van in a couple of years, but (money permitting), we'd like to keep the CT as well for the rougher trips for the first few years. Only time will tell.

Mines on top of the dash and I do not in any way find it distracting.
Outstanding controller!

Not connected there is one dot on the screen. Connected with no brakes, there is a small c on the display. Brakes applied, there is a number that varies with the brake pressure applied.

Its also got a manual lever to apply trailer brakes. Mine is under the dash at left knee position. In one or two quick attempts to engage the manual level, I have never got there in time, so choose an easy spot to reach.
