My Question is "if they were laid end to end how much crackling would you get?"
Feral pigs culled to protect
Cape York turtle nests
Friday, 19 January 2007. 13:14 (AEDT)Friday, 19 January 2007. 12:14 (ACST)Friday, 19 January 2007. 12:14 (AEST)Friday, 19 January 2007. 13:14 (ACDT)Friday, 19 January 2007. 11:14 (AWDT)
About 10,000 feral pigs have been shot on
Cape York Peninsula, in far north Queensland, to save a colony of nesting turtles.
The joint aerial shoot by the Natural Resources Department, Wildlife Service and
Cape York Feral Animals Program has been conducted over six weeks along coastline on the western side of the cape.
The department's senior zoologist, Dr Jim
Mitchell, says feral pigs are decimating
turtle nests.
"Some work has been done, they estimate up to 70 per cent of all the
turtle nests are predated on by feral pigs, that's on an average basis," he said.
"But in some areas up to 100 per cent of nests are actually predated on by pigs."

I hope that they do not have a culling programme for goats. Certain members of this
forum would not have the ability to control themselves and they would go absolutely Troppo.

Wonder what the crocs are going to feed on now?
When I was up there, saw a few bits of pig laying on the sides of creeks.
Well, the tourist numbers are increasing.
Might have to be more careful in future.
Good to see the turtles getting more of a chance though.
