I'd had this system in my old Patrol for a year or 2 and was never really sure whether it worked or not (cos I never ran low on coolant). It always did what it was supposed to do on start up....(IE: make a short buzz and flash the large red LED).
Well I finally got around to fitting the system to the Chev's radiator last weekend and I can say that "Yes, the alarm truly does work in real life conditions".

The owner of the business (which is a supporter/advertiser of this website) is David Jones. Back in November David saw my post about the new Chev Patrol and, remembering that I had his system in my old Patrol, was kind enough to send me a new probe for the radiator, to make the install easier for me. No charge.

When I fitted the new probe etc on the weekend, I refilled the radiator without the motor running. The next time I drove it, when I went around a left hand corner, the alarm sounded for a couple of seconds...... You see the sender probe is on the left side of the radiator, so when I went around that corner, the fact that I hadn't topped the radiator up quite enough meant that the probe was momentarily out of the coolant.....enough to make it react and let me know I needed to add some more coolant.

Thanks again to David and I can honestly give his product a big TICK of approval (again).....

I have no association (either financial or otherwise) with the Engine Saver business or it's owner......just a satisfied customer......

Cheers

After my headlight reminder alarm, mine is one of the best things I've added to the machine itself.

Ozdrag, Dick Smith have one for around $10. Works a treat. You'll never leave the parkers or H/Lights on accidently again :))
