Am thinking of taking a detour to Gurig Nat Cons Reserve on our way from near
Perth to
Cape York , via Kimberleys and gulf track (may be too late to apply for permit anyway) - have checked forums here & elsewhere .... my question = "is it worth the trip out there" ? There will be two vehilces (Nissan + Toyota -got both camps there ) with two off rd campers & four adults.

Yep,
definitley worth the trip. I went up there last june for 2 weeks, One of the best holidays I have ever had(if not the best). There is plenty to see and do in the
park, or you can just sit back and relax. Your vehicles (yes even the nissan) will both make it up there ok. :) I would check with the rangers first to see if the roads are open after the wet.
Cheers

Yes, it is a pretty special place. Don't know if you will get in as in the past you had to book
well in advance. They used to let only 15 vehicles per day into the
park. This may have changed by now. Cost of entry and
camping fees have gone up considerably over the ensuing years.
