Hi folks, I was wondering if any other 3.0 turbo GU Patrol owners had experienced diesel fumes in their cabin. My 2000 Patrol tends to let in diesel fumes when I open the windows at around 100-110kph. I have had the engine checked with my mechanic and he has found no leaks or obvious exhaust holes, but the smell persists. It it more of a diesel fuel smell than an exhaust fumes smell and I was wondering if anyone else had experienced the same and sorted a remedy?
I suspect it might be an airflow issue, but I guess there must be some open source of fuel right?
Any advice welcomed.

Just a couple of things to think about...
Early GU rear door sealing was not special, you could be getting some fumes in from there when you create a backdraft by opening a window.
The GU runs really clean and there should not be any diesel smoke (unburnt fuel) at all, other than perhaps a small puff at startup. If there is any
sign of black fumes around the rear you should have the MAF checked as overfuelling with this engine is not good and IMHO a major source of failures with this engine.

OT thanks for
the tip I will run a few checks to see if there might be some leaks there. I wonder if one of those rear window spoilers might positively effect the airflow around the tail of the truck?
