If you want to have a road
test of a dome style swag with a self inflating mattress Messege me and I ill drop around (My missus has temporarily abandned me So I have nothing 2 do) it is a big mutha but omfortable (for me)

Mate,
I've never owned a roof top tent but the only issue with them that concerns me is it is a long way to fall after few amber beverages (if you know what I mean) and a PITA if you need a midnight
toilet break.....On the other hand if you are camping where the wildlife is known to eat people (Snapping Handbags) then I'm sure it is a great idea......If in Africa I guess it would be a must.........

Nothing, though my shooting is pretty poor after a number of amber beverages.....

LOL, good call, SWMBO might not 'enjoy' being confused as a funnel

Gday Bundy
I have both, the swag being a single but I ave a bit of a problem with confined spaces, so the swag has a small dome on each end and plenty of ventillation. The roof topper takes about the same amount of time to set up as the swag, and maybe a minute longer to pack up. For a 2 to 3 nighter I would go with the swag, mainly to save the (minor) fuel use with the rooftopper, and its a bit of a pain to mount on the roof.
If I was for weekly use though, I would definetly go the rooftoper, purely for the comfort and space.
Cheers Andrew

Bundy Boy ,
I have done a lot of sleeps in my Ultima tent / swag . It has a square cross section - top and both sides are mesh , with a huge hvy duty pull over ( and zip )cover in case it rains .
Brilliant for hot weather and star gazing . Not cheap , built like a brick outhouse by an ex-army fella .
My wife has one too and loves it .

No , I do not work for them or have shares in the Company !

I just went to the site to
check for any new products and it is no longer in use . You will have to look him up through the on line phone book if you are interested . He is on the North coast of NSW .
Sorry .

Willie your link works. You just have to delete the "/swags" from the address bar.

Ultima is side entry with pull over flap . You could ask the guy to make you one with a longer flap ,
