For the toyata experts.....

I am trying to find out the model (part #) of the transfer case & gearbox in the following vehicles:

HJ75 (2H 4lt diesel)
HZJ75 (1HZ 4.2lt diesel)

Essentially I am trying to find out if a PTO winch from a later model HZJ75 (4.2lt) will fit onto a early model HJ75 (4lt)

TIA

Dennis

djm67,
I don't think it will go. The reason is, and I may stand corrected, the 2H Transfer case has an inspection plate that is removed to take the PTO gearbox.....the 1HZ does not have this inspection plate.
I have a HJ60 with a PTO winch and looked at this same thing some years back.

sorry,
should have said, I have a HJ60 and a HZJ105. I think you will be in the same boat with the 75's.

Thanks but the PTO is coming FROM the 1HZ to the earlier 2H (with said inspection plate)

I'd be pretty sure that they are identical.
I've looked up the spec sheets (dated 11/87 and 10/92) on those two models, and the gearbox, transfer and diff ratios were identical. The gearboxes on both were the H55F. Can't remember the transfer designation, but I'd be pretty sure they were the same too. I've known people with both vehicles with PTOs

I think Toytuck above is getting confused with the 80/100series 1Hz which I think had a different transfer and lacked the plate for the PTO.

Marks adapters has the 80 series box as the H150F (H151F for the turbo)

But it lacks model numbers for the HJ75 series.

It notes that they both are 19t spline, with the ratios the same except for 3rd gear (slightly higher ratio in the 4.2lt)

H150F/H151F boxes didn't ever get fitted to the 2H or 1Hz 75series.
They were only used in the 1FZ-FE and 1HD-FTE 75series.
