Hi all,
I have a 99 V6 grand vitara and I am looking for accessories:
I already have:
TJM nudge bar
Narva spotties
OME
suspension (shocks and springs)
Milford cargo barrier
Cooper STT rubber
Roof bars
Hayman rees towbar
I would like a bull bar to replace the nudgee and maybe a good lift kit, what else would be good any idea if there are replacement
long range fuel tanks and would also like some info on installing a
camping lamp and hi lift jack on the rear. I think a hand winch would do is 1600-1700kg fully loaded if the girlfriend jumps out to lend a hand that drops by about 60kg!
cheers
ogosh

One of the members in our club has fitted an alloy bullbar to the front of his GV. I think it was a TJM but it could also be an ECB. He has a long range
tank that was made by Brown Davis in
Melbourne for a GV that was competing in some offroad racing but I'm pretty sure it was a one-off although they may have the plans to replicate it. I'd do some research on their tanks and service though as there has been varying feedback.

As for lifts, to go beyond the OME kit you can either add some coil spacers for a bit more (cheap) or spend some dollars and go with a Calmini kit www.puresuzuki.com/grand_vitara2.htm
There are limits though and I would suggest that you would be better off getting a rear locker put in instead.

the ome is standard height whoever did it wasn't thinking right as they left teh height the same and upgrade with 4 new springs and 4 new shocks... then I bought it like that so the only real lift is a few mm from that and a few more from larger cop;perSTT tyres.
H'm a rear locker instead...thats an idea....Id prefer asteel bnar to add a winch but a zook doesn't really need a winch

If you already have the OME kit then you have the best struts for the front you can get. The rear shocks are OK but lack some travel if you really want to build it up. You could either swap
the springs for some 956 & 968 (XL-7) for some more lift or add coil spacers. When you do the rear locker you will need a diff centre from a Vitara which also gives you the opportunity to swap diff ratios to compensate for larger tyre diameters. From the sounds of it you haven't increased the size that much so if you have a manual V6 then you would want to find some 4.625 R&P's and if it is an auto then look for some 5.125's.
As for the winch why not consider having a cradle made to hold the winch behind the stock bumper instead. It looks tidy.

Hello OsherG
Our 04 Grand Vitara has a TJM Alloy Bullbar, Thule roof bars & Basket, Dual Battery System, Buggered if I can remember what 35mm Shocks & Polyairs fitted to the rear & Lightforce 170 Strikers, Rear drawers are under construction at this time.
Accessories appear to be limited for this model no
snorkel due to Abs & I am not aware of any lift kits, I did get a second hand whisper that TJM may have something but have not followed up as yet.
See Ya
Brian B (NT) soon to be Brisvegas.

I'd still look at the rear locker first and if money is an issue just add some coil spacers for a bit more lift.
