Hi folks,

I have been scouting for some time to find a bullbar for my '02 TI patrol (has the wheel arch flares). SWMBO is happy with the standard nudge bar it comes with as it is 'shiny' but it provides no protection and I dont like the front bumper. I am basically after a touch more clearance in the front end.

I have located an genuine alloy bullbar part number: F2200 - VD100AU.

1) does anyone know if this bullbar is the correct one to suit the GUs with wheel arch flares (sits flush)?

2) can an alloy bullbar be chromed? (keep the shinyness for swmbo)

3) if so, does anyone know a place that does it bayside (or thereabouts) in bris?

i dont really want the task of keeping up with the polishing for the look she needs...

Thanks in advance,
Tom

1/ quote part no to Nissan - they will be able to tell you if it fits
2/yes
3/you don't really want to chrome it. The reflections back to the driver would be horrendous and also when using you head lights.

As much as it pains me to say it, what about the ARB deluxe bar? Has some pretty chrome bits.

The price of this genuine one cant be passed up.

I could always resort to keeping it well polished and that will hopefully keep the MRS happy. she drives the car most anyways. i only get in it on weekends.

ta for the info ;-)

the vd100au is technically for the later model patrol.... mainly to do with later air bag compliance but it will fit

hey donks,

i just rang nissan and they advised the same as you. he stated the bar i am after for my model is a vc100au.

the fella from nissan stated it wouldnt fit as the headlights in new model are lower. i couldnt see there being too much of a difference in the headlights etc of the 2 models which would be affected by a bull bar.

do you think that there shouldnt be any issues with fitting?

he seems too interested in selling me a $1400 one...

headlights are different on series 4's but i'm not sure about the dimensions of the light body. may need to find a series 4 and do some measurements, but i think it will fit... half the time a new bar on the right car needs to be modified anyway.
we've done heaps where bolt holes need to be elongated to get it to sit right..
you would think that tjm and arb with contracts to nissan, yota etc could get it right hey
is the bull bar you are getting complete????? brkts etc..
older model accessory parts are hard to get bits for once a new version is released.

yes, is stated to come with the relevant mounting kit.

you would definately think that they could get it right the first time.

there appears to be a rubber flap on this bar running along where it would sit under the headlights and grill.

i will have a looksee at the newer model. i think it would be worth the purchase anyways and if it is not what i need, flog it off somewhere.

Hi Tom - is the one in the photo (white Patrol on left - 1/2002 GU) like what you want? We have taken it off and fitted ARB bullbar for the winch (like the Patrol on the right). I don't know where you are - we are in WA.
