Hi All, heading off tonight for the weekend to east gippsland. checked all the right sites, phoned all the right people and where we are going is open with a very very low chance of being closed again by fire danger in the next couple of days. however i do have one question - what is the smoke like out that way at the moment? We are going past Lakes Entrances. What's the smoke like past there? I just got off the phone to a customer in
Launceston who mentioned that it is still smokey there even though it is clear here in Melb.

Howdy,
I'm in Stratford, on the Hwy before Bairnsdale - the smoke has eased off to almost nothing for the past week to ten days. I can't say what it is like further east although we've had a few days of moderate wind that cleared the air significantly. Today is like the days before the fires started - no smoke at all.
