the RX5965 is a handy gadget and the built in gps makes if fairly bulky.
Bought one recently to replace a 'retired' 4150. Initially unimpressed by it's size & weight, and by comparison so the 4150 the 5965 is slow to start up & run, though the processors are similar, I think.
The brain size of the 5965 menas that it should be able to handle a fair number of applications, and as it comes with Tom Tom I've been having fun playing with that. Next
Melbourne trip will be something of a
test!
I have installed Ozi, and there seem to be no conflicts with Tom Tom (I wondered if it would get confused with the gps interface, though i've not tried running the two programs at the same time!).
What's the biggest SD card you can get these days? I have a few 2gb cards, and will get something bigger. Presently have an aerial photo of the
farm, regional CFS map book, Raster 250k Aust mosaic and one or two others, but never enough!
For me, I think the 5965 will be used as a navigational device (as opposed to an organiser I keep on me daily).
Route planning is best done on a map or bigger screen. The pda is then used on the road to tell me where I am.
I used the OziCE settings manager (I think that's the program - lets you program the buttons on the pda to control various functions in Ozi). On the 4150 I found that, once Ozi had been opened and then closed, the buttons stopped functioning in their original settings (ie opening the calendar, contacts etc).
The 5965 comes with a handy car mount (suction cap for the windsreen), car charger, usb cable etc. It has the handy ability to rotate the screen and the buttons are good (ie 'start' & 'close', plus four or five application launch etc. and the navigational one).
