You can expect to pay between $3000-$4500 for a conversion these days depends if you go injected gas or not. Prices have jumped dramatically since the goverments subsidy has been put in place. Expect to get 2k-3k back from the goverment depending on your location.

If you want to go non injection , I would think again. It' snothing less than a nighmare. If your coil packs are not up to scratch , stock up on air boxes. Coil packs need to be no less than 80,000 kms old , as any loss of spark will give you back fire nightmares. if you want to go injection, the only kit worth anything is the Parnell Prins kit. To do the Disco , expect to pay $5000 to $6000 depending on what tank set up you go for. You can get a Sprint gas kit , or a boemo kit for $3000 to $4000 , but youldnt recomend it. The issue with the Boemo kit, is that it dosnt hold the program if yo uloose
battery power. The Sprin gas kits have given instalers nightmares, Injectors , seem to cop out at 20,000 kms . There are better cheaper kits coming out , but there still 12 months away.

A 96 V8 disco does not have coil packs - just a single coil.
I priced a later style conversion and was given quotes of around $3000 - $4500 depending on where the tank was located. The $3000 price was for scuba tanks in the back with a false floor - leaving the petrol tank in place. The $4500 was for scuba tanks under the car repacing the main fuel tank but included a small auxilary petrol tank that goes in the rear wheel arch and uses the standard filler.

Scuba tanks? Do you mean actual scuba tanks converted to hold LPG or tanks that are scuba tank in shape?
