Hi,
Reading through the archives, there are references to the coleman collapsible
camp oven. I have searched the WEB trying to see what this thing looks like but whave not been able to find it (Even on the Coleman Site?).
According to the archives it folds flat to around 6cm.
Can anyone please post any pictures or advise the part number for this oven ?
Thanks
Phil P

PHi hil ,
Does this have a gas burner inside , or do you sit the whole thing over the fire ?

Hi Willie,
Have seen these in the camping shops. They are a neat design, and sit on top of a gas burner, rather than have their own burner. There are baffles in the base to prevent the flame from travelling up into the oven. Made of light galv sheet steel, but I wonder how long they would last, mainly with regard to the sheet steel baffle section which sits over the burner. Also, the hinges might freeze up with prolonged use. Because of its design, there is, of course, no insulation in the walls.
Would be good for baking etc where there are bans on open fires.
As an aside, I once tried baking bread in my
camp oven over a gas stove when there was a fire ban. Think I used most of my 4.5kg gas bottle to make that loaf of bread!!!
cheers, Gerry

Thanks Gerry , thanks Mr Dog . I guess it would be OK if you just sat it on a bed of coals .

The LINK you have supplied is for an American company. Hate to think of what the freight costs would be to Aust.
Have a look at these (they are ALL in Australia):
Coleman Australia AND the oven
Grangers Camping World
Larry Adler Outdoor
E-Bay
If you want more, try Google and search on 'Coleman Oven'. Heaps of links. Remember, if the domain name just has .com after it, then expect it be an American site. They 'founded' the internet therefore THEY don't have to include a country designation in their domain name. (Just for future info)

You would probably be very surprised to find that buying it from the states and getting it here is still way cheaper than you can get it for here , case in point ,firestone airbags [same as polyair systems] bought and delivered for $180au compared to best quote of $396 locally

Saw it in KMart, they have 25% off. Comes to around $70. It sits on top of a gas/dual fuel stove.
Decided against it ! - more stuff to unload & pack up.
