Evening all,
A mate is 'seriously considering/about to order' a Coleman camper trailer. This CT is made by Coleman USA - the same company as the
camping and gas items etc - not the Australian Coleman Camper mob.
He has considered a Jayco Hawk and a Goldstream but the price seems too good for one of these Colemans.
I haven't seen any of these in Australia. They are a 'plastic' external wall and come standard with hot
water and a heap of extras compared to the Australian market. It is to be imported from the States when he gives the word.
The only extra cost that I can see is that of changing 110v items and wiring to 240v and having the wiring and gas systems certified to Aus standards - and the door is on the wrong side (off side).
Can anyone think of any other probs he may encounter?
Oh, and price is about $10k, mates rates....2 year old Coleman.
Thanks,
Tim - Stratford.

Won't there be registration issues with the door being on the wrong side? Thought you had to have a left side door in Aust to be roadworthy.

No problems getting it registered I've got two registered, In VIC as
well as N.S.W. Door opening on drivers side not an issue. Actually works
well when
camping with others as you can face awnings together. I think Colemans are made by Fleetwood in USA and re badged, some share the same model names Fleetwood Taos Coleman Taos. Great camper with some good features, at a good price.
Cheers
Rob
