Hi Guys,
Just returned from a trip up north towing a CT in the old 60 series 2H Toyo and have got to do something about those hills. Has anyone got any advice on whether I should put a turbo on it and where to go to find someone to do it. ( I live on the Mid North Coast NSW) Don't try to talk into selling it and upgrading to a later model as I am happy with the beast, its just those bloody hills towing the CT. Thanks in advance for any help.

clarkie63,
I've fitted a few Denco turbo kits to these and they always come up well. usually about $3500 fitted with exhaust, give them a call.

We turboed our old troppy with around 350k on the clock.

It made a big difference, but I wouldn't do it again. Even with dotting all our i's and crossing our t's it still contributed to the need for a motor swap less than a year later.

Would have been cheaper to do a 6.2 chev in the first place.

(the old girl still goes, nearly 500k on the clock, just doesn't get much use nowadays)

Gday clarkie just got back from first trip out with gu intercooled turbo towing a 17 ft pop top crikey what an amazing diffrence compared to previously towed with non turbo gq td42 patrol overtaking with the old girl was just not on but the most annoying thing with new girl is she wants to keep going and keeps asking for 5th gear
bottom line if ya love ya beast spend the dough on a turbo "happiness Garanteed"
Cheers

The 2H with a turbo goes very well. Need to be sensible about boost levels and be careful with the EGT. If the engine has high K's on it then you may need to consider a rebuild also. Another consideration is fitting a 12HT.
