i've just bought my first 4x4, nissan navara dual cab st-x really happy except for an issue with the brakes .
i find them really soft with lots of travel they stop ok once you lean on them a bit but i was just wondering if this is how they should be ?
and can i get them adjusted to get some more pedal ?

Can't really help you Citrus but I find the brakes onmy fathers Patrol very much the same...they don't inspire a lot of confidence in my opinion. In contrast I find th ebrakes on my DX NAv quite responsive. Yes big weight difference I know but...

I'd get them looked at. I have a ST-X and never had an issue with the brakes

Take it back under warranty, and if the Nissan Agent says there is nothing wrong with them, then take it to another dealer.
Cheers

Citrus,
I purchased a D40 ST-X in August 06. I found the brakes "softer" than other 4x4 vehicles that I have driven, however I have put it down to the ABS? With that said, I have on two occasions since having the vehicle, had reason to "slam" the brakes on. On both occasions the brakes pulled the vehicle up no probs at all!
