Well after an awesome weekend of 4WDing at
Coffin Bay (SA) with the
Whyalla club, yesterday I became seriously bogged for the first time in my Patrol. No big deal when you are out with a club but I did discover my GU has had the front recovery points removed at some stage. My questions is where is the best place in SA to buy some replacements without paying a fortune?
Thanks in Advance
Snowy

Wreckers. In Lonsdale, southern suburbs of
Adelaide is a good wrecker that I always try first for parts for my GQ, Nisscommercial. 80% of his cars are MQ, GQ and GUs. He will have these no doubt. May be able to get one posted to
Whyalla. Sounds like the Coffin trip was good, pity I was working.

Get the new price from Nissan and TJM/ARB then try a wreaker. I say this because none of them are ever the cheapest always. I was looking for an extra recovery point for the Jack and Holdern wanted some huge sum, the wreaker wanted slightly less and I ended up with one from the 4wd show for $13.

A friend bought an extra one from Nissan for about $70.

I wanted to get a second front recovery point and found those Bushranger off-the-shelf one's have a different bolt spacing, so avoid those. I recommend wreckers north of the city! JD

I put a bushranger Bkandcruiser one on my Patrol as a second recovery point, it fitted easily, just devalued the car a bit.

they are usually removed when the bar is fitted up as the fitters are too lazy.
also
check the bolts on the bar, see if they are high tensile.
If you had the bar fitted, I'd take it back and say put it back on.

Gotta watch them, we had some work done on our rodeo which necessiated the removal of the bar, they didn't put the recovery point back, luckily I noticed before we needed it.....
