I been using a inverter to run a TV and video been working fine until last weekend.
Didn't do anything different then previously just a overload fault light comes on.
It's done the job for about 6 months no probs.

It's a Solartronic's brand made in Australia called (The Power Point) 350VA continuous and 650VA Intermittent.

Bought from a Tandy store some years ago.

Anyone had problem's with a inverter and are they repairable economically.

Hi Jeff

Some inverters will show a fault if the battery voltage is low or in poor condition.

Have you tried it on another battery ?

Regards

Derek.

my tandy was showing overload and shutting off running the laptop. I started the car andall was fine. I then changed it fom ciggie lighter to alligator clips and ran it from the battery-problem solved

Thanks Derek
This I will check out , all the lights in the boat worked fine and also the 12V water pump but low voltage could well be a problem.I have a 80watt solar panel to charge 2 large truck type battery's and all has been fine since installed 18months ago now.
Hope this is all that is wrong because the inverter is not mine it's on loan from work.Derek do you handle inverter's, I think I should get my own now.

Bugger tried the inverter in the 4by and same deal over load light comes on.

So I'll have to get it repaired if possible , might get the sparky from work to take a look.It could be a simple thing , couldn't it. LOL
