Dont know about posts on this forum but I have seen photo's of 100 series with third battery under the bonnet in 4WD Monthly. Looks like the fuel filter and a few little bits 'n bobs get moved out of the way.

I think ARB do a bracket for it.

sorry for my stupidity but what would a third battery be used for?? 1st one for the car, 2nd for stuff like fridges etc but 3rd???

Id assume that ARB or someone like that would do one....but where it would go...no idea....

Laura,
third batteries are fairly common. I have seen them used for all kinds of applications. I have seen them mounted in teh engine bay, in the rear cargo area and on camper trailers and the like. Most of the ones I have seen are used mainly for camp accessories with the Aux battery running just the fridges etc.

100 series TD has two batteires as standard...both dedicated to engine....so unless you want to change over standard system you must fit a third

yeah thanks for that- the cradle works a treat.
The posts rub a bit on the bonnet insulation but thats sorted now.

FYI it mounts the battery above the passenger side shock tower next to the intake manifold.

Have you checked out options with a marine battery box and getting creative with an isolator and some anderson clips? I think Opposite lock even do a battery box now where you just supply the battery you are after and the box handles the management- you just connect alternator to it and it has connections and all.
