Has anyone seen these? The seller has sold a heap of them, and my son has bought one.

Yeah,

We looked at importing a pile of them a while ago from China. They are a knock of of some European brand (the name escapes me). The ones we were looking at had a couple of additional rooms that could be zipped on - one covered the ladder, and one enclosed the base of the car. They were a one size fits all kind of arrangement.

If these are the same tents I am thinking of, they are made in the same factory as the camper trailers sold by a rather large company here in Australia......

If you want a roof top tent, these would be fine for most people.

If he's getting $900 for them, I may have to revisit the idea of importing them....lol... We assumed people would pay no more than about $500 to $600 or so.

Cheers,

Chump

Looked at them a couple of months back. Same bloke sells them through the trading post for $750 as well. Same design as the ARB Pilbara which is more than twice the price. Older ARB tents were a much thicker and higher quality material. Now they use a ripstop or facsimile thereof and are sourced from China. These tents are primarily the same. Pretty good value.

When you say a 'heap' of them, I am not sure I believe that. His eBay rating is only 10 and of the two previous available sales in his history (within the last year), he has only sold one.

Hi Juzzy, there were 4 purchased during the past week, and my son bought two on his bid. One has also passed in with no bid. My comment was made to distinguish what appears to be an importer/reseller from someone selling an item purchased for their own use.

Hi lifeisgood - he bid on one, but ordered two - saving on freight. No doubt a mate will take the other one off his hands at cost. I said there is Mother's Day coming up. That was all i could think of - Christmas has just been, and i don't have birthdays any more coz that means getting old!
