hi all , Hope you can help me as im in a bit of a quandry .
My story is i bought a new alternator from coventrys here in WA and i specifically asked for a internal regulator version ,anyway the idiots have sold me an ext regulator one but from the the outside you cant really tell ,any the idiot that i am cut the plug off the end because they didnt quiet fit together .I can not fix the plug back on without it looking a bit bodgy .
So what do i do ,do i go into coventrys and demand to see the manager and point out the idoit that sold me the alternator in the first place and then complain that the alternator must have been sold before because it has nt got a plug on it [A lie] .
Or do i get and external regulator now and wire that in somehow ,Is that easy ?
Thanks all

Some companies have a sales policy that require you check all electrical components before you leave the store or no return ! This is to stop people claiming that the item was faulty after they have fiddled (cut plug off) with it !

Sounds like Coventry's won't touch it now, best see an autos sparks for recommendation. Saw 2H alternator on EBAY last night, cheap as.

You'll have to do as Bill Cosby does in Fernet Branca - eat your mistake.
In 15 years you won't remember it, but if you lie and Coventry's (correctly) tells you where to go, you'll never forget it.
And then you'll still have to solve the problem you've created for yourself, so my advice would be to do the right thing and stay away from Coventry.

Look its a easy mistake and I'm sure coventry's would have been happy to refund you if you had not cut the plug as I would but you cant expect someone to take back a damaged Item bite the bullet accept it as you're mistake. as for converting it to a external reg car go have a chat to you're local auto elecy there are fairly easy was of doing it.

thanks all ,ive have hopfully got it sorted now ,i have an auto electrician who said he will rewire it for me with the existing plug and coventrys have said thay will take it back .Obviously they wont know about the rewire .Luckily the guy i dealt with in coventrys remembered me when i went in and spoke to them about returning it ,and he remembers me stating it must have an internal regulator .
Thanks all .
