Hi, looking for advise on installing spot lights on my LC 100 series, fitted to the bull bar.
I've just recently had the Safari power-up kit installed (D-tronic ECU, 3inch exhaust and a larger intercooler)
The guy that installed this advised me not to put spots on the bull bar as it would restrict the air flow to the inter-cooler.
How much of a worry would this actually be ?
Does any one have the wiring colour code for a 06 LC 100 series ?
Cheers
Glenn

I think air flow is very important on any vehicle with a power up kit.
Forget spotties and just upgrade the headlights.

Mate,
If the guy that installed the system advised against fitting spotties- I think I'd be taking his advise. I guess he may have some idea as to how the system works.
But then I'm easily lead!!!

Hi Glen,
I have t/d LC 100 with lightforce 240 blitz's have had no problems.
As you have a bigger intercooler than normal this would need as much air as possible so as Signman said take the installers advice .You could fit 2 small rectangle spots where the fog lights would be.
How much increase in power have you got with the up grades I know the chip will go from 151kw to 173kw so what will the 3'' exhaust and intercooler upgrade give you ?
Regards

Hi Colin,
The power up has been quoted at 185kw. I was shown an e-mailed dyno graph from a prevoius customer with the same mods, same vehicle who had the TD dyno'd at 187kw.
One thing I can tell you is that as soon as I drove it out I was impressed and after 2 weeks am still impressed.. Just got to keep the right foot from being exited..
Spotties in the fog light space, will have to see what fits, thanks.
Cheers
Glenn

Gidday Col,
The turbo lag is unnoticable now.
I have got 36% increase in torque, now 585Nm of grunt.
The fuel economy is about the same, but would be better than before if I didn't boot it most the time. Haven't done a proper economy
test run yet.
A bit expensive at $3900 for the power-up but bugger, to me it's worth it, you only live once....
I noticed you are from WA. Armadale 4WD done the work along with suspention up-grade and draws, was happy with their work.
Cheers

Hi Glen,
They are pretty good figures and not that expensive .
We where going to put the chip in but have decided to wait until the V8 twin turbo comes out in October if the price is not too steep(am guessing about 80-90k)if so will probably get an 06-07 and do what you have done.
I live in Jandakot so Armadale 4WD is just down the road thanks for the info .
Regards

In Supercheap they sell a chrome style bar that fits behind the front number plate to enable you to mount the spotties there. Will be down below the line of the bull bar - worth about $40 I think.

who not just go a small set like the 140 lightforce?
only 142mm high (lens) and 132mm deep. You will always get better lighting out of a set of spotties over the headlamp upgrade (I have done both).
