We have a 2000 Subaroo Outback and for a little while the Remote Opening has not worked. I have changed the battery in the key a couple of times and still no better. It will work very occasionaly by unlocking and then not locking and visa versa.
I am wondering if there is a battery in the sensor unit within the car wherever that might be.
Does anyone have any clues on this problem.
Thanks in advance
Des

Hi Des ,
We had a problem with our Holden keys SWMBO's set would not open the car about 2 weeks back.So I had to leave work go home and get my set of key's and hand the keys over. Then had to have new battery fitted and have it reprogramed.
Des I also want to pick your brains about the computer mapping system I need it for work so I can work out the route surveys for our wide loads.Maybe it will come in handy on 4by trips as
well ,no room to spread out maps all the time.
Do you have such a system.
Kind Regards Jeff M (SA)

More likely to be a dry joint in the circuit board in the key from what you are describing.
There won't be a battery in the sensor unit. It runs of the big one under the bonnet.
Any chance there's a friendly electronic tech in your circle of friends?

Thanks Dave, I'll see if I can enlarge my circle of friends LOL
I do have a Computer nerd handy with a can of circuit cleaning spray handy. I did spray the contact side of the key but not the circuit board.
Thanks again

sound like a ry joint -- if you have a soldering gun you can maybe just give each and every solder joint a warm up and remelt -- OR head down to jaycar and see if you can get a universal learning remote there about $50 and may help

Hiya Des,
Came by your place yesterday - sorry I didn't have time to stop.
Who is the ExplorOz member with the big sticker on the rear windscreen on the main road through
Berri?
Cheers
Andrew.
