This device should be good for

Plug in a USB GPS and run Oziexplorer, etc
Play the music while travelling
Jotting notes in handwriting, as it's a tablet and should be able to run Onenote
Email, banking, normal PC stuff
etc

Overcomes laptop disadvantages of size, clutter with AC adapter, etc. Very portable, DVD available to plug in when required

No, I don't sell them.

Nice piece of kit.
Given the differences between laptop & this tablet the price looks o/k.
One question though, when I am running OE for trips how long will the batteries last? All day? I think I would still need a power cable. Therefore no different to my laptop when it comes to cable clutter.

Nice new toy though.

You'd need the car adapter that's listed as an option on one of the pages.
Maybe the input votage to the device is a (thoughtful) 12-14v so you could just wire the plug into the car directly?

That would mean a slim loom of two cables for the toy - one for the USB GPS and one for the power. Then you might want the USB CDMA card so you can get e-mail while driving :)

Couldn't see any mounting points or cradle for in car use though, but as this format takes off there will surely be others and the price will reduce.

It looks good. I had been using something very similar - an NEC TabletPC that only weighed a kilo and had 10.4 inch screen for the past 2 years. Brilliant for Ozi - keyboard and CD were plugs ins, that never got used while I was away.

The tablet was accidentally killed when I was leaning on the screen last month and it went crack :-(((
New screen costs more than new computer!

Yep, spare screens have always been over the top.

That's why I always suggest people buy laptops which have 3 yrs Warranty - if the screen dies at 14 months the laptop's a throwaway.

Well almost! It just needs a couple of camera ports and it would fill the bill, otherwise not bad and heading in the right direction.

Kind regards

Take a look at the Sony UX series. Awesome bit of gear that retails for $2400.

Full featured Windows PC in an ultramobile package.
