Hi guys,
Can you bush camp anywhere along either track? or are they a bit anal about that sort of thing making you use other commercial facilities.

Also where is the best quiet spot to spend a couple of nights in Lakefield NP

Thanks
Tour Boy

Driving up the Bloomfield Trackin the rain some years ago we couldn't find any accommodation suitable. They were either booked out or totally out of reach, price wise.

As we got out of the National Park there was an ideal campsite alongside a bubbling creek. It had a big sign stating NO CAMPING!!....or else!.

We camped there.

Through the night a mob of indigenes passed by in a Falcon wagon(in 4x4 territory)(they crossed the creek with water over the bonnet and then we could hear them pushing the car up and over at the top of the hill), a White Tailed Rat came to introduce itself and a Golden Orb Spider, about the size of my hand, fell out of the jungle canopy on to my face. Aaaaarrrrgggghhhh. No wonder the sign said no camping...lol

Aaarrrrggghhhhh - not fair....... shame on you Ivan :)

- did you have to post a link to your trip journal - my feet just got itchy again looking at your pictures.

We covered a lot of the same ground as you last July/Aug/Sept, had a fantastic time.

Hi Tour Boy

Nice creek crossing on the CREB track , and you could camp there, and
one or two other places on the lower half of track.
