I have a 2000 3 ltr automatic TD Jackaroo and recently undertook a terrific trip with my local club through the High Country. After about day 6 or so one morning when starting the car the engine started to idle very roughly, with lower than normal revs, then it settled down after a while (we cleaned out the air filter as the roads were pretty dusty - thinking a lack of air might be causing the rough idling). Now having been home for a month the vehicle continues, every so often, to idle roughly with lower than normal revs. This may occur when the engine is either cold or warm and may occur one day but not the next. When the engine is idling roughly the accelerator lacks response but the engine never stalls or revs high and usually after a couple of minutes idling returns to the norm.

The injectors have been replaced as per the manufacturers recall. Has anyone else experience this sort of low idling.

One perplex Jack driver.

I presume you change the fuel when due ?? Just a thought have you changed the fuel filter since your trip away ?? Maybe has some crap in it and not allowing full fuel flow. I'm no mechanic just thinking what else it may be. Maybe this has absoluetly nothing to do with it but thinking of the cheaper options first and ones that you can do yourself. Hope some one else can lead you into the right direction. Steve M

Oil travelling up the wiring loom to the oil pressure sensor?? Common problem, can be solved by cleaning sensor or better by replacing loom. Sorry to detract form this site but there is a truckload of info on this at www.australia4wd.com.au with a special section for Jackaroo TDs. Worth a look - I solved most of my probs there and now my Jack's running sweet never missing a beat.

Could be the hose between intercooler and turbo blown off or left off at recall or service.
