After a lot of running around I now have my original copy back. Title: "The Great Unfenced".

I'll get the VHS tape transferred to CD/DVD and send a disc to you and a copy to the National Film and Sound Archives in Canberra.

This may take a bit of time, so bear with me.

I'll need an address. Can you send it to kimmc@satlink.com.au please.

There are a couple of funny scenes in the documentary that will become evident. I spoke to the Station Manager, and he reckons she was the best Shirla he's ever on a Station.

Regards

Kim

Well done, Kim and others involved. It certainly deserves to be preserved.

She was the best WHAT ? Never heard that term before. Sounds interesting ...

It's a doco (circa 1962) entitled The Great Unfenced. The film depicts life on Billiluna Station during that time period.

Maybe you could cut a 'trailer' and post it on Youtube? I'd love to see some of that footage. Sounds like magic stuff.

I've got Northern Safari on disc come to think of it and my Dad has some ripper slides of an around Australia trip the early 60's in his SWB Landrover. Have to dig them all out.

I know a bloke who has some 16mm footage of the Warri and Yatungka trips in the 1970's. He shot it with an old Bolex.

Diesal

Thanks for that.

Can you explain what Youtube is? Bear in mind this film will probably be subject to copyright.

Hi kp, Youtube is a site where you can post up videos for other to watch. Here's the link..... youtube

Copyright may be an issue although a 'theatrical trailer' may not.

Cheers

There have been a few people e-mailing me offering money for a copy. Theres no need for that (as long as it does'nt get out of hand).

I'm more interested in seeing it preserved.

Kim
