Looks like the Saudis beat us to it and they can still get a SWB with a 4500 petrol engine.
The owner reckon it craps on the Jeeps : )

That is his own private bowser I guess too ... I'd prefer that to the cruiser ;-)

Yeah, it would simply crucify Jeeps. And do it with the comfort of icy cold, reliable airconditioning at the same time.

Not better than a jeep ,it craps on em;)
When was the last time you saw a jeep handing out food parcels in some wretched place in Africa or being used as gun platform or axle deep in corrosive
water 9 times saltier than the ocean 2000ft below the surface?
You wont because the downtime would be too great;)

Now that would be entertaining! Add a chip and turbo and you'd have 260kW.
Those Saudi's don't muck about.

I'll be extremely happy when the "new" toyota finally gets here. All those sneak pics and threads. What a lot of time wasted.
Instead of all the hype about how good it will be (hopefully),I expect we will now hear about how to fit chips, upgrades, bigger rims and tyres to improve it.
LOL

Is the time wasted greater than disco owners go through trying to get the electrical and gearbox problems fixed LOL

All that sand and they still use split rims and cheese cutters! Hmmm
Also, I was amazed when I saw some pics from there last year and they had SWB GU Patrols! I wonder how
well they'd sell down here.

Those split rims and cheese cutters are still pretty common here past
the black stump in the red dunes.
Ive seen those swb GU patrols and they look out of proportion like the 2 door 90 series prado.
Too much overhang front and rear even though its the same as the 4 door.
Obviously nether passed the taste test with aussie buyers;)

I agree - the cheese cutters are great on sand once aired down. I do a lot of sand driving and wouldnt use anything else..........
The Saudis can probably get them with the V8 diesel as
well.......

I have a set of 6 splits with 10 plys on sitting in the shed ready to go my 100 series for 'real' 4x4'ing. Only way to go for hard core off road work, especially in WA.
