I am looking at purchasing a 12v air compressor and have checked out the more popular 4wd ones (Bushranger etc), have come across one under the "Lion" banner. The specifications seem to very similar to the Bushranger Max Air 11 but at half the price.
Has anyone had any experience with the "Lion", how reliable are they? or is it just a matter of getting what you pay for??

Cheap crap made in China , might be half the price and probably won't last half as long. I certainly would not count on it in extreme remote locations,I got caught out about 2 years ago when I thought $65 for a little LION evaprotive A/C might help keep one cool at nights , I would have been better off If I had fed my dog Onion Stew and sat him on the dash, he would have made more wind .It ended up in the bin , a total waste of money.

Don't get put off by brand name snobs!
I bought a copy from ebay a couple of years ago & it has worked it guts out & never missed a beat.
Once it aired up 12 tyres from 18psi to around 40psi without a break ,with no problems at all.
If it looks the same ... go for it!

I bought one of the Bushranger clones from Big W a few years ago for about $80 from memory and it appears OK. Admittedly it doesn't get a lot of use but it's working fine so far and if it stops working then I can always use the ARB compressor I've got permanently mounted for the rear air locker.
Regards Andrew.

I Have had a cheaper ($90?ish) compressor before, can't remember the brand but think it was a lion. Had it for 2 years before giving it to my brother and law when I sold him our Roza (second car). Still going strong although only used probably 10 times a year.
Now have one of the 72l minute ones and is going strong.
They are better than nothing and it will depend on how much you have to spend and how often you will use it. ($90) every couple of years is easier to find than $400 that could mean you don't use your vehicle because you don't have a compressor.
Only went the larger one as I wanted something quicker and suercheap had a sale so I picked it up for not much more than the smaller ones.
